When you have a strong desire to serve, to share your good fortune and share your commitment to do good, the path to take seems less difficult…. This is how he describes his career in an organization that fascinates him but, above all, allowed him to accomplish his dreams of doing good, always with good humor!
Loubert – whom we are referring to – joined the Rotaract Club of Delmas on June 21, 2003, about one year after the club was chartered. He wanted to put his newly acquired managerial skills at the service of the less fortunate. He never doubted that, in return, he would gain solid friendships, those with foundations rooted in common values. The proof is that these friendships have been transformed into a shared desire to strengthen Rotaract clubs in Haiti so that they are able to share the lessons learned from implementing projects but, above all, improve their individual and collective performances. This shared desire birthed the Rotaract Haiti Board in 2014, which Loubert co-founded with his “sisters and brothers at heart” of the Rotaract Club of Delmas.
A few years later, after having served as ADRR and before the minimum age question was resolved with Rotary Clubs, the time came to to join the court of the “elders” in order to pursue and flourish in the mission that motivated him. Then, as usual, our brother felt, yet again, the desire to participate in the creation of Excellence and founded with his sisters and brothers, former Rotaractors, and other professionals with the same passion, the Rotary Club of Delmas-Centre, in 2018.
As President today, 17 years after joining this organization, he is making history because it is the first time a former Haitian Rotaractor will take the helm as President of a Rotary club. Indeed, he shares this headline with Rod-Henry Sévère, incoming president of the Rotary Club of Champs de Mars, 21 years after the first Rotaract club in Haiti, Les Cayes, was chartered on April 19, 1999. With his wife, Jerlie, a former Rotaractor and Rotarian of Delmas-Centre as committed as him, we wish them a year rich in sustainable projects and activities, and lively fellowships, despite the challenges that lie ahead
