In the south of our country the earth wanted to reproduce the waves of its sister the sea, in doing so it brought desolation and chaos. Then the sky cried, the wind howled, the thunder and the lightning waltzed, then for the inhabitants of the south the world was liquefied. These are natural disasters that happen suddenly, leaving many people helpless, weakened, injured, discouraged, broken.
Hundreds of people desperately waiting for help. Where will it come from and how? Without them realizing it, in the heart of despair, hope is born. The end of the wait is here! There is not one hand, but more than a million hands, hearts, wills, loves coming together. Members from a total of 85 clubs across 10 countries have quickly come together to bring much needed help to women, men and children in need after these terrible events.
With one voice they said, “We are here for you, we support you, we will help you get back on your feet because you are not alone!” This is how the Rotary family is mobilizing to send medicine, clothing, food kits, and more to our dear fellow citizens. Rotary never forgets its mission of “Service Above Self” in order to help the community in any way possible. It is important to us because it is the light that makes our soul shine.
Our reason for being is to accompany our community, to invest ourselves for it. Our hearts go out to the victims of the earthquake and the storm. We not only say it, but we also prove it by our actions!
All the Rotary Clubs in the District and elsewhere have heard the cries of pain of the people of the deep south, the family has mobilized in the shortest possible time, in order to do its best to help heal the wounds of our compatriots.
